Objective

You want to understand how to configure Coconut to set Enterprise defaults of settings, and how to override the settings to personalize the LOB-levels.

Understand Enterprise and LOB-Level settings

There are 2 types of settings when using the Multi LOB add-on:

• Enterprise Settings

  • These are settings that can only be configured at the Enterprise-level

  • These will apply to all Lines of Business

• Line of Business Configurable Settings

  • These are settings that can be configured differently at each LOB-level

The ability to configure settings specifically for individual LOBs provides greater flexibility for personalization at the LOB-level.

View and Modify Enterprise-level settings and defaults

Admins with Enterprise-level access have the ability to view, or set enterprise settings and LOB-configurable setting defaults through the Settings section when accessing Coconut through the Enterprise-level.

Identify Enterprise and LOB configurable settings

When viewing settings at the Enterprise-level, each setting will show a tag for “Enterprise setting” or “LOB configurable” beside it to show what type of setting it is. These tags may be shown beside the setting group title to indicate that all settings within the group are of a certain type, or beside the individual settings if the settings group has a mix of setting types.

Change Enterprise settings and LOB configurable defaults

1. Open the settings for the Enterprise-level

2. Adjust any Enterprise settings to configure the value that will be used by all Lines of Business

3. Adjust any LOB configurable settings to configure the value that will be used as the default for any LOB that does not have an overridden value

View and modify LOB-level settings

Admins have the ability to view, or adjust LOB-configurable settings for any Line of Business that they have access to.

Identify Enterprise and LOB configurable settings

When viewing settings at the LOB-level, each setting will show a tag for Enterprise setting, or either an option to “Override” or “Return to Default” beside the setting to show that it is LOB configurable.

Change LOB Configurable Settings

1. Open the settings for an LOB-level

2. Use Override to adjust any LOB configurable settings

If a setting cannot be overridden at the LOB-level, it will be visible but not modifiable. Some settings, such as integrations will not show the Enterprise values.

Reset settings to Enterprise defaults

For settings that have been overridden at the LOB-level, you will have the option to reset them back to the Enterprise default configuration. This action will remove the LOB-specific setting, and the system will revert to using the Enterprise-wide value.

1. Open the settings for an LOB-level

2. Use Return to Default to adjust any LOB configurable settings to use the enterprise default value

Limitations of LOB-Level settings

Currently, only specific settings within Coconut support configuration at the LOB-level. Not all settings can be overridden. The interface will clearly indicate which settings can be configured at the LOB-level. If a setting does not show the option to override while you are in an LOB view, it means that setting can only be managed at the Enterprise-level, and any changes made will apply globally.
