Daylight saving time changes in Western Canada take effect on November 1, 2026.
Coconut has updated its time zone handling to support these changes for correctly configured locations. Appointment confirmation pages and appointment notifications will display the correct appointment time and time zone label. Most customers do not need to take any action.

What can I expect to see after November 1?
For correctly configured locations:
- Pacific Time appointment confirmations and notifications will display MST.
- Mountain Time appointment confirmations and notifications will display CST.
These labels reflect the correct UTC offsets for the applicable time zones.
Coconut is not changing the displayed Pacific or Mountain time zone names to custom regional codes (such as PCT or ABT) at this time. We will continue to monitor broader industry adoption of these naming conventions and will communicate if our approach changes.
Note: As time zone updates take effect, Schedule View may temporarily display PDT for Pacific Time or MDT for Mountain Time.
We expect the companies that develop and maintain browser time zone data to release updates after November 1. Coconut cannot control when these third-party updates are released or installed. Once available, the displayed labels in Schedule View are expected to align.
This temporary display label does not affect appointment scheduling or the actual appointment time. Appointment confirmation pages and notifications will continue to show the correct appointment details, including the updated MST or CST label.
No customer action is required. We will update this article if further guidance is needed.
Do I need to update my time zone settings?
Most customers do not need to take action.
You should review and update your configuration only if Coconut has contacted you because one or more Canadian locations or staff profiles are currently configured with a U.S. time zone. Update those affected locations and staff profiles to the appropriate Canadian time zone before November 1.
If your Canadian locations and staff profiles are already configured with the appropriate Canadian time zone, no action is required.
Do not change your configured time zone solely because Schedule View displays PDT or MDT. If you are unsure whether a setting needs to change, contact Coconut Support before making any changes.
Will Coconut change displayed time zone names to PCT or ABT?
Not at this time. Coconut is not changing the displayed Pacific or Mountain time zone names to regional abbreviations such as PCT or ABT.
We use standard labels supplied by underlying time zone providers rather than creating custom labels. This keeps Coconut aligned with the wider software ecosystem and avoids inconsistent labels appearing across product screens, emails, SMS messages, browsers, and devices.
We will continue to monitor broader industry adoption and will communicate if our approach changes.
When should I contact Coconut Support?
Contact Coconut Support if an appointment confirmation page or notification displays an incorrect appointment time.
Please include:
- your organization and affected location;
- the appointment date, expected time, and time shown in Coconut;
- the displayed time zone label;
- whether the issue appears in Schedule, an appointment confirmation page, or a notification; and
- a screenshot, if available.
Why do Schedule View and appointment confirmation details show different time zone labels?
Schedule View receives time zone labels from the web browser, while appointment confirmation pages and notifications use Coconut’s updated system time zone information. The labels may differ temporarily, but the appointment time remains correct. See additional details here.
Will an appointment move by an hour if the label is different?
A different label does not change the local appointment or schedule time when your locations and staff profiles are correctly configured.
What should I expect for Manitoba?
Manitoba time zone updates are still being finalized. Coconut will share further guidance if action is required from your team.
