Daylight saving time changes in Western and Central Canada take effect on November 1, 2026. British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Western Ontario will not move their clocks back by one hour.
Coconut has updated its time-zone handling to support these changes for correctly configured locations. Appointment confirmation pages and appointment notifications will continue to display the correct appointment time and time-zone label.

What can I expect to see after November 1?
For correctly configured locations:
- Appointments based in British Columbia will display
PDT - Appointments based in Alberta will display
MDT - Appointments based in Manitoba will display
CDT - Appointments based in Western Ontario will display
CDT
These labels reflect the correct UTC offsets for the applicable time zones. A label change does not change the appointment time.
Coconut is not changing the displayed Pacific or Mountain time zone names to custom regional codes such as PCT or ABT at this time. We use standard labels supplied by underlying time zone providers so that labels remain aligned across Coconut, emails, SMS messages, browsers, and devices. We will continue to monitor broader industry adoption and will communicate if our approach changes.
Do I need to update my time zone settings?
If your organization has locations or staff in British Columbia or Alberta, review their time zone settings before November 1. Update any affected location or staff profile that is set to a U.S.-based time zone to the appropriate Canadian time zone:
British Columbia:
America/Vancouver(UTC-07:00)Alberta:
America/Edmonton(UTC-06:00)Manitoba and Western Ontario:
America/Winnipeg(UTC-05:00)
Do not use U.S.-based Pacific, Mountain, or Central time zones for affected locations or staff profiles. If your records already use the appropriate Canadian time zones, no change is required.
Should I update computers and browsers?
Keep affected computers, operating systems, and browsers up to date, particularly on managed or older devices. Also confirm that each computer is set to the correct local time zone. These updates help keep time-zone information aligned across Coconut, your devices, and browser-based Schedule View.
Will this affect my Microsoft Exchange or Outlook integration?
If your organization uses Microsoft Exchange or Outlook, confirm that affected users have the following time-zone settings:
British Columbia:
(UTC-07:00) Pacific Time (British Columbia)Alberta:
(UTC-06:00) Mountain Time (Alberta)Manitoba and Western Ontario:
(UTC-05:00) Manitoba
Depending on your Microsoft configuration, these settings may not update automatically. Contact your Microsoft administrator or Microsoft Support if you need help updating them.
Will an appointment move by an hour if the label is different?
A different label does not change the local appointment or schedule time when your locations and staff profiles are correctly configured.
Why is the time zone in my client’s notification different from the location's time zone?
Notifications display the client's preferred time zone, which may differ from the location where the appointment was booked. When booking, the client view defaults to the time zone set in their web browser.
Clients can select a different preferred time zone during the booking process.
All appointment confirmation and reminder notifications automatically adjust to display in the client's selected time zone.
When should I contact Coconut Support?
Contact Coconut Support if an appointment confirmation page or notification displays an incorrect appointment time. Please include:
Your organization and affected location
The appointment date and expected time
The time displayed in Coconut and/or Outlook, including the time-zone label
